A Sad Announcement

Dear Readers,

This is Gary’s wife, Suzanne. I have some sad news to share. Gary passed away Sunday morning at the age of 73. Although he was not in good health, it was an unexpected shock. We will miss him terribly.

Gary Weiner

Gary loved writing this blog for you and hoped you enjoyed reading it. I know it would please him greatly if you were to still find some helpful knowledge in his 780+ existing posts.

I will be leaving the blog live for some time to come. At this point, I do not know if I will be adding to the posts, but I’m sure the existing posts will help you to save money, make money, and invest money.

Thank you.

So very sorry for your loss. I especially appreciated Gary’s perspective as an older writer. His post about his forgotten retail pension finding him after several decades was such a great story. He wrote of you with great love. May his memory be a blessing.

I am so sorry for your loss. My name is Matthew Guerra and I was on the HOA board with Gary. I’m so saddened by his passing, we all are. He was such a nice person to me when I joined the board and he will be very missed. I didn’t know how else to contact you but if you need anything feel free to reach out.

Suzanne – I’m so sorry for your loss, I’d only known Gary through the internet and blogging but he was always kind and generous to me in how he would share articles of mine and others. He will be missed.

  5. Suzanne, I’m so sorry for your loss. I have been interested in saving money from a young age and while I never came across this particular website, I was pointed here by J$. It’s a different kind of loss losing someone that you interact with strictly online, so I appreciate you sharing this news with readers of this site.

  8. I’m sorry for you loss. I hope you keep the blog as a part of his legacy. It’s more of an asset than you may realize just yet. I’m happy to help and show you how to get started when you’re ready. I will visit and keep you in my prayers.

  9. Suzanne, As a tech dinosaur I never realized until recently that Gary was tweeting out some of my posts. He was selfless in promoting the work of others. When I figured out how to leave him a note a couple of weeks ago, I thanked him for his support. I then remembered I had met you both at Fincon 15 in Charlotte. I sat next to you both at a session. We three were the only Boomers in the room! I’m so sorry for your loss. I know you were a big reason for his success. My sympathies.
